Inés Fuentes is a Vienna-based artist whose work explores light, color, and perception across different media.
Born in Southern Spain, she studied Fine Arts at the University of Granada, where she developed her artistic practice. Since moving to Vienna in 2015, her work has evolved through the dialogue between the subtle atmosphere of Central Europe and a renewed perception of the light and intensity of the South.
“I was lucky to come back with a new perspective and absorb it as if I was seeing it for the first time.”
Her work centers on expressive, personal interpretations of landscape. Rather than seeking direct representation, she focuses on color, light, and atmosphere as a way of shaping perception.
In recent works, she expands this exploration through the use of alcohol ink on mirror surfaces, introducing reflection as an active element in the experience of the piece.
Alongside her studio practice, she has taught art in international environments, including at the United Nations Office in Vienna, working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. This exchange of perspectives continues to influence her work.
Her work has been presented in exhibitions at the Vienna International Center, as well as at Vienna City Hall and during the ICDO Long Night of Intercultural Dialogue, among others.
